Leiths - Assistant Quarry Manager

Blackhills Quarry, Cove(Full Time) 

Reporting to the Area Manager you will be responsible under Section 8 of the Quarries Regulations 1999 for assisting with the safe and efficient management of our Blackhills quarry.

 

You will need to demonstrate a strong commitment to Health, Safety and Environmental management and possess the necessary competence and leadership skills to promote a positive team culture.

 

The ideal candidate should have previous management experience, a sound working knowledge of quarry and coated operations, as well as general maintenance activities. Flexible approach to work and good communication skills are essential for this role.

 

Previous experience in a similar role would be preferred as you will require a strong technical knowledge of fixed and mobile plant operations, blast design, shot firing and quarry development. Blackhills is going through a very exciting period and offers great potential for personal development.

 

Ideally you will hold, or be working towards a SHE NVQ Level 3/4

Leiths - Civil Engineering Foreman

Grampian Area(Full Time ) 

We are currently seeking to recruit a Civil Engineering Foreman to work in the Grampian area.

The role requires a minimum of 5 years experience in drainage, earthworks, hard landscaping and general road construction as a foreman.

The role will be based out of Rigifa, Aberdeen and candidates will be expected to work throughout the north east of Scotland.

Candidates will hold a current driving license, CSCS card and CPCS card (dumper & Roller). It would be advantageous if candidates possess SSSTS qualification and first aid certification, however, this is not mandatory as training will be given.


You will be comfortable working as a team leader with a drive to maintain high quality standards and achieve set goals.  Attention to detail along with a focus on Health & Safety is vital for this role.

A company van will be provided and pay will be dependent on experience.

Particular consideration will be given to candidates applying for the role bringing with them an established squad of civil engineering operatives.

We are a supplier of natural stone products (primarily granite) based in Oldmeldrum, near Inverurie.

The key aspects of the role will be to:

  • Target architects and contractors to raise Fyfe Glenrock’s profile in the Natural Stone sector

  • Develop relationships with existing and past customers to increase spend including cross selling products where possible

  • Follow-up enquiries, attend meetings with potential customers and close sales

  • Liaise with the sales team to efficiently respond to customer enquiries, including preparing estimates and quotes when necessary

Leiths - Plant Fitter

Rigifa, Cove(Full Time) 

We are currently seeking to recruit a Plant Fitter for the maintenance and repair of our wide range of plant and equipment.  The role requires a great degree of independence, extensive experience in fault diagnosis and repairs as well as an ability to work on your own initiative.

The role will be based out of Rigifa, Cove however regular visits to other sites is a requirement so you must hold a current driving licence.

The ideal candidate will already come from a mechanical engineering background ideally with demonstrable experience as a mechanical engineer or fitter in the heavy plant or quarrying industry.

You will be a team player who is equally comfortable working alone to meet the demands of this busy plant maintenance division.  Attention to detail along with a focus on Health & Safety is vital for this challenging role.

We are currently seeking to recruit a Plant Electrician to be based at our Workshop in Cove.

You will be required to undertake the safe and efficient electrical maintenance, repairs and installation works as required on fixed and mobile plant and equipment in accordance with the Quarries Regulations 1999 and other relevant legislation.

The role requires a degree of independence, experience in fault diagnostics and the ability to problem solve quickly.

The ideal candidate will be City & Guilds trained, computer literate, have good communication skills and be a team player.  Experience in a similar role is essential as is a driving licence as you will be required to travel to our other sites.

You will be required to carry out routine repairs, maintenance, fabrication and installation works on our wide range of quarry plant and equipment which includes crushing and screening, sand and gravel washing, milling and ready mix concrete. In addition a sound knowledge of mobile plant would be advantageous.

All works must be carried out in a safe and efficient manner ensuring the Company’s Health, Safety and Environmental policies are adhered to at all times. Essentially you will be a team player who can also work alone in order to meet the demands of this busy site.

We are looking for an enthusiastic and self-motivated individual, with a strong personality, to join our busy Distribution Department, based in Cove, Aberdeen.

You will be part of a team responsible for the safe, efficient and cost effective distribution of quarry and recycled materials using our extensive fleet of road haulage vehicles.  Main duties will include the planning & monitoring of our Artic Vehicles, as well as supporting the entire vehicle planning operation.

Industry experience and knowledge of construction materials would be beneficial, experience within haulage and/or distribution would also be advantageous.  This may suit someone who already holds a Class 1 HGV licence.
