Leiths

Dr Sivakumar is an experienced concrete technologist from Chennai, India and is currently a Deputy General Manager at Larsen & Toubro, a top Engineering Contractor operating in more than 30 countries around the world.

Dr Sivakumar was in the UK attending a conference “Evolving Concrete” and made contact with Leiths to arrange a site tour of some of our concrete operations. During his visit, he was given a tour of Parkmore Concrete Plant at Dufftown and our Liebherr Concrete Plant at Loch Hills Quarry, Dyce.  Dr Sivakumar was also given the opportunity to see, for the first time, a volumetric mixer in our SITEmix.

Dr Sivakumar earned his PhD from the University of Dundee (Concrete Technology Unit) for his work on concrete durability, developing assessment criteria for carbonation of UK concretes.  He is also a “Fellow” of the Institute of Concrete Technology and has been inducted in to the Indian Concrete Institute’s Technical Committee TC-08 on Concrete Durability.  Dr Sivakumar's professional highlights are when he won the 2012 “MCR Award” from the Institution of Civil Engineers, London, and the 2014 UltraTech Award for "Outstanding Young Concrete Engineer” from the Indian Concrete Institute.
