A festival of fiddle traditions from America, Brazil, Canada, Denmark, England, Galicia, Germany, Hungary, India, Ireland, Mexico, Norway, Scotland, and Sweden!
The programme, which includes concerts, ceilidhs, workshops and talks, has been sponsored by various companies across Aberdeen, including Leiths, who are delighted to be able to support the event and, in particular, Carley Leith, as Festival Director.
The programme kicks off on Wednesday, 11th July with free lunchtime performances at The Lemon Tree and will be the most ambitious yet, with more than 150 events, featuring over 75 artists representing a variety of fiddle traditions from all over the world, ending on Sunday 15 July.
The beauty of NAFco is the variety and accessibility of the events - from master classes to beginner fiddle workshops, dance workshops, demonstrations, talks, film screenings, sessions and so much more. There is also a Young Fiddle Camp, open to young musicians, ages 10-25, which will premiere their works at the NAFCo Gala Concert at HMT on Saturday 14 July.
